C.A. Shouldn’t Look to Obama, U.S. for Help

Dear Nica Times:

Regarding the article “Leaders Encouraged by Obama” (TT, May 1). First, it is well written and informative.

As a U.S. citizen, the thing that jumps out at me is that Obama has duped the leaders of Central America, as he has the majority of the U.S. public.

Of Obama’s promises to the Central American leaders, the only one completed will be immigration reform. He will push through open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens.

The hope of these governments is an increased flow of their poor citizens out of their countries and an increased flow of U.S. dollars back to theirs.

Under Obama, the U.S. economy will collapse. Jobs and money will dry up for aliens. The money flow back to Central America will also dry up.

The U.S. is on the fast road to becoming a third world nation. The Central American countries are about to experience their own immigration problem. Millions of U.S. citizens will be crossing their borders looking for jobs. I hope they are as kind to us as we have been to their citizens.

If I could speak to each Central America leader, I would tell him not to count on anything they hear from Obama. They should look to support their economy with a monetary system other that the U.S. dollar.

Central America countries need to make plans to protect their own economies, security and way of life by means other than counting on anything from the U.S.
