It Was a Crazy Time

I was a staffer at The Tico Times back in the early ‘80s, and Linda Frazier took my place. What a crazy time that was. One of my favorite things I ever wrote for TT was a column on “Piropos.”

The notion of men hissing at me as a compliment was pretty foreign to this young, feminist Gringa just learning Spanish. I wrote this self-righteous, indignant column that would probably make me laugh today.

Wish I had a copy – or maybe not!
