Thieves Take $2.3m From Bank in Panama

PANAMA CITY – A group of unidentified individuals broke into the vault of a bank in the Caribbean city of Colón, 80 kilometers north of Panama City, and stole nearly $2.3 million, police said June 3.

The thieves forced a lock on one of the doors of Mega International Commercial Bank, the former Banco Chino, in the Colón Free Zone, broke into the vault and stole the cash. Police said two other bank robbery attempts were made the same day.
