Putumayo World Music, one of the biggest little labels in the world, takes us to the land of bossa nova and sensuality with its latest release, “Brazilian Lounge.”
“Seductive Brazilian melodies and subtle electronica mix on this collection of contemporary chill-out rhythms” is the tag line on Putumayo’s Web site (www.putumayo.com), and it’s an apt description for this light, sexy collection.
The album features the perennially popular Bebel Gilberto; nueva-bossanova stylist Paula Morelenbaum; “City of God” actor and musician Seu Jorge; ’60s favorite Marcos Valle; emerging musician Luca Mundaca; and France-based Dos Irmãos, with Mariana de Moraes, called “the Norah Jones of Latin America” in a statement from Putumayo.
The album retails for ¢6,900 ($13.80) at Vértigo, Librería Internacional, Music Box and other stores throughout the country.
