Chamber of Commerce OffersTax Plan Seminar

The Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce will offer a seminar later this month for business executives, financial advisors, accountants and anyone else eager to understand what the Permanent Fiscal Reform Package – approved by the Legislative Assembly in first debate last month (TT, Feb. 24) – means for them or for their clients.

Tax specialists Alan Saborío,Mario Hidalgo, Floribeth Bonilla and José Armando Fallas will explain the reforms, which, if approved, would replace the existing sales tax with a value-added tax and change the way income tax is calculated, among other changes.

The seminar is planned for 8 a.m.-noon March 21-22 at the Hotel Tryp Corobicí, north of Sabana Park in western San José, for a cost of ¢55,000 ($110) for chamber members and ¢65,000 ($130) for non-associates.

For more information or to register, call 221-0005, extension 109 or 123, or e-mail capacitacion@camara-comercio.com.
