Chang’s Rocket Co. To Be Publicly Traded

Ad Astra Rocket, the company started by Costa Rica’s famous physicist and astronaut Franklin Chang, plans to go public on the National Stock Exchange.

Chang’s company will take advantage of a new program through the National Stock Exchange that gives small and mediumsized companies the opportunity to dip their toes into the market.

The company’s stock will be directed toward a small group of “sophisticated” investors who are not afraid of high risk stocks and who buy into Ad Astra’s dream, according to Ronald Chang, executive director of the company’s Costa Rican branch.

Based in Liberia, in the northwestern province of Guanacaste, Ad Astra Rocket is developing a plasma engine it plans to market to the U.S. space agency NASA as a way to cut travel to Mars in half.
