SOS College to Host Youths from All Over

A group of approximately 25 youthsfrom around the world will be “transcendingbarriers, innovating solutions” atthe SOS Hermann Gmeiner InternationalCollege in the western suburb of SantaAna tomorrow through July 10.Young people ages 16-20 with aninterest in international affairs and multiculturalismwill attend the summer academyfrom countries including Israel,Germany, Colombia, Hong Kong, SierraLeone, New Zealand, Peru, China and theUnited States.The summer academy was developedfrom a partnership between theSOS International College and theUnited Nations Human SettlementsProgram (UN-HABITAT), in honor ofUN-HABITAT’s 30-year anniversarycelebration next year in Vancouver,Canada, said Jan Kozak, director ofsummer programs at the SOS College inCosta Rica.The SOS school forms part of SOSChildren’s Villages International, a private,nonprofit organization established in1949 to provide orphans with stablehomes. The school in Santa Ana is a residential,international school that offersthe International Baccalaureate (IB) programfor talented students from underprivilegedbackgrounds throughout LatinAmerica.For more info, call SOS College at282-5609
