THOUSANDS of job seekers will getthe chance to talk their way into one of7,000 positions offered at the FirstBilingual Job Fair, to be held Nov. 4-6 inthe National Culture Center (formerly thenational liquor factory) in San José.Representatives from 17 multinationalcompanies will be searching for newemployees to fill spots in finance administration,human resources, accounting,international trade, customs administration,systems engineering and softwaredevelopment, among other positions,according to a statement from the CostaRican Investment Board (CINDE), whichis sponsoring the event.Two thousand of the positions need tobe filled by December. Most jobs requireat least a high school education, and alldemand proficiency in English or otherlanguages, such as Italian, Portuguese andMandarin.The businesses participating in the fairinclude Sykes, Procter & Gamble,Chiquita, Supra Telecom, Alienware,Qualfon, Baxter Americas, UPS, Dole,Western Union, Intel, IBM, HewlettPackard and others. The event is free andopen to the public Friday, Nov. 4, andSaturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., andSunday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Jobseekers should bring a resumé in English.
