Earthquake Felt In Guanacaste

The towns of Playa del Coco and Filadelfia, in the northwestern Guanacaste province, shook from an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale Sunday night, according to the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI), in Heredia, north of San José.

The earthquake, which originated 20 kilometers below the earth’s surface, occurred at 7:37 p.m. No damages were reported.
