ASTRONOMICAL EVENT

Early risers and those with clear views of the western sky were rewarded by a beautiful astronomical event Tuesday morning, a total lunar eclipse. For about 90 minutes the moon appeared reddish in the early morning sky. The eclipse, which occurs when the moon moves into the earth’s shadow, was visible from North America through South America and the Pacific Ocean including areas of Asia and Australia. The next full eclipse of the moon will be Feb. 21, 2008.
