Coco Capsule

Hope Fellowship Church has relocated to Playas del Coco, with a new home now in Colonial Plaza next to BCR. Join in for Sunday services at 10 a.m. and check out the website at www.fellowshipcr.org.

A new welcome center has opened up in Las Palmas. This fully-staffed center provides information and handouts to visitors and residents. The handouts contain information about local services and businesses in Las Playas and all of Guanacaste. For more information, call 2670-0269.

With November here, popular restaurants closed in October have reopened, including Ginger, Citron and Pieces.

Run for health on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the annual race, sponsored by the Lions Club. This 10K race though the streets of Playas de Coco benefits health services, and entry is $16. Sign up at Luperon, Unique Adventures, Medical Assistance and Utopia Magazine.

On a more personal note, as a U.S. Army veteran who took off my uniform too long ago to remember, I attended the second meeting of the new vets club here in Coco a few weeks ago. I learned quite a bit and had the opportunity to see many friends I’d not seen during much of the green season.

Anyone living in Guanacaste is welcome to join this group, though I envision a series of clubs/associations being formed on a more local level over the next few months. For more info, contact flack.karen@yahoo.com.
