Soak up the art! More than 250 artworks by Costa Rican artists will be exhibited in Gallery 11-12 in Plaza Itskatzú from August 24 – 27.
Gallery 11-12’s goal is to exhibit more than 250 artworks by over 40 great national artists that have marked a milestone in the art history of Costa Rica.
The name of the artfair is Feria de Arte Maestros Costarricenses and it will summarize more than one hundred years of Costa Rican art history.
“We seek to give amplitude and follow-up to an activity that began in 1986 and since then has aimed at the dissemination of art as part of national identity through history,” said Mario Matarrita, director of the 11- 12.
During the fair visitors will be able to encounter historical masters such as Emilio Span, Enrique Echandi, Manuel de la Cruz González, Fausto Pacheco, César Valverde, Margarita Bertheau, and Jorge Gallardo, among others.
You can also enjoy the works of contemporary masters such as Rafa Fernández, Fernando Carballo, Guillermo Porras, Leonel González, Jorge Tamayo and Alejandro Villalobos.
The fair will feature a few emerging painters such as Enrique Delacalle, Daniela Vargas, Carolina Guillermet and M. Lerman. In addition you will be able to admire the art by sculptors like Manuel Vargas, Miguel Angel Brenes, Donald Jiménez, Néstor Zeledón Guzmán, José Sancho, Mario Parra and Domingo Ramos.
The exhibition celebrates its fourth edition in Plaza Itskatzú and is a totally free event for all.
