Park Turubari closed due to fallen bridge

Park Turubari in Turrubares has been closed indefinitely due to a collapsed bridge over the Tárcoles River. The bridge over the river, which was a pre-constructed Bailey bridge, collapsed three weeks ago in the storms caused by Hurricane Tomás.

In a message on the homepage of the Park Turubari website (www.turubari.com), a note titled “Indefinite Cessation of Operations” reads:

Dear Customer: Given the confirmation of the Minister of Public Works and Transport of Costa Rica, that will not be possible to build a bridge within a short term, we feel the need to proceed with the indefinite cessation of operations of the park. We appreciate all the support over the years and hope for your understanding in this difficult situation.”

Park Turubari, which is located between Turrubares and Orotina, west of San José, is known for its canopy tours, aerial trams, nature trails and exotic animal exhibits.
