This week in the Peace Corps: Celebrating a scout anniversary

Many Peace Corps Volunteers across the country have the opportunity to work with the Guías y Scouts, including the troop pictured above, which was formed one year ago.

Volunteer Xavier helped celebrate with them by participating in various scout activities including learning how to build a tent, build a fire, team building, and leadership games.

Coming up soon, these kids in Guías y Scout will get to experience their first camping event ever. For many of them, this will be the first time away from their parents and their communities.
