Mexico: At least 15 dead in tourist bus crash in Oaxaca

OAXACA, Mexico – At least 15 people were killed in a road accident in southern Mexico Saturday involving a tourist bus and a passenger van, authorities said.

More than 30 others were injured in the crash, which occurred in the state of Oaxaca, according to police and first responders.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. in the village of Los Limones on a road that runs close to the Pacific coast, they said.

“We have a report that at least 15 people were killed and many more have been taken to hospital,” local police official Faustino López Ríos told reporters.

The Mexican Red Cross tweeted that more than 30 people had been hurt.
