Costa Rica’s Carlos Arredondo, left, holds Jeff Bauman’s crutches while U.S. President Barack Obama delivers the State of the Union address. Last April, Arredondo ushered Bauman to medical treatment during the Boston Marathon terrorism attack, in which Bauman lost both his legs. Arredondo, 53, and Bauman, 27, have become close friends, and visited Costa Rica together last year. First Lady Michelle Obama invited the pair as special guests to the State of the Union in Washington, D.C. Tuesday night.
