American Schools of the Region to Dribble It Out

The MarianBakerSchool in San Ramón de Tres Ríos, east of the capital, will be hosting the 2009 Association of American Schools in Central America (AASCA) coed basketball tournament Oct. 21 to 27. Eight schools will be participating from four countries, with 14 teams expected of players aged 15 to 18.

Joining Costa Rica’s Country Day (Escazú and Guanacaste), American International and Marian Baker schools will be Colegio Maya from Guatemala and El Salvador, and Panama’s BalboaAcademy and International School of Panama.

The opening ceremony will take place Oct. 22 at 9 a.m. at MarianBakerSchool, after which the games will begin, to be held at both Marian Baker and Country Day Escazú. The closing ceremony, dinner and award ceremony are set for Oct. 26 at MarianBakerSchool.
