Praise the Lord and Pass the Bulletproof Vests

In February, a group of certified SWAT instructors from the United States arrived in Costa Rica, bearing gifts – such as bulletproof jackets, police radios – and offering classes in special police tactics.

Hailing from Michigan and Arizona, the instructors, all members of a group called Teaching Authorities Christian Truths in Central America (TACTICA) required just a couple of things in return: an hour of prayer before the training sessions and 90 minutes of sermons afterward.
