Osa Tourism Fair Planned for July 4

The annual Southern Zone tourism fair, Expo-Osa Turismo, is coming up fast. Now in its 11th year, the fair is designed to connect businesses in the Osa tourism industry with buyers from inside and outside the country.

This year’s fair will take place July 4 in the Tryp Corobicí Hotel in west San José.

“It gets better every year,” said Luis Centeno, president of the Osa Tourism Chamber. Centeno noted there will be 45 companies at the fair, all of whose tourism businesses are located somewhere between the central Pacific beach town of Jacó and Puerto Jiménez, on the southern tip of the OsaPeninsula.

Expo-Osa Turismo is the second biggest tourism fair in the country, the largest being the enormous EXPOTUR, which this year took place this past May.

Centeno said Expo-Osa offers a more targeted market for the 96 members of the Osa Tourism Chamber and helps build the Osa brand, which every year becomes more recognized both in Costa Rica and abroad.

“We think the main success of Osa is exactly because for so many years we have been promoting the brand… in Costa Rica and the world,” Centeno said.
