PolyOne Corporation to establish operations in Costa Rica

PolyOne Corporation, a premier global provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, on Tuesday announced the opening of a new distribution warehouse and sales facility in San José, described by the company as an ideal location in close proximity to many key customers in the region.

“Our new Costa Rica facility will provide value to healthcare device manufacturers and processors in the country by helping them to streamline logistics and simplify inventory management,” company President Kurt Schuering said.

“The country has become a key region in Central America for our global healthcare customers, and they will receive the same service that we maintain in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico and China,” he added.

Costa Rica was recently ranked by a World Bank study as the top high-tech exporter in Latin America. The medical industry in the country is expanding rapidly, with more than 40 medical-device companies manufacturing locally.

Based in Cleveland, Ohio, in the U.S., PolyOne Co. reported $2.9 billion revenues in 2011.
