Amazon to hire 800 new employees for its Costa Rica operation

Amazon on Wednesday announced it will hire 800 workers for its business centers in Heredia and San José, Costa Rica.

The online retail giant will host a job fair Friday and Saturday looking to fill posts in its administrative, human resources and customer service departments.

The fair will take place at Amazon’s offices on Calle Blancos in northeast San José, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“It’s always a joy for Amazon to recruit more staff in Costa Rica. We invite all interested people to come to our facilities and learn about the benefits of working with us,” Amazon’s Costa Rica manager Alejandro Filloy said in a news release.

Administrative posts are for both operational staff and management. Recruiters will be looking for bilingual candidates with fluent English, Portuguese or Italian for the company’s customer service department.

Candidates must take two printed copies of their résumé, a photocopy of their ID and a printed background check. They also must bring originals and copies of all their diplomas.

Job seekers can see a list of available posts and apply online at Amazon’s website.

Amazon launched operations in Costa Rica in 2008 and currently employs more than 3,000 people.
