U.S. Foreign Aid Breeds Contempt

Dear Nica Times:

As soon as the welfare starts to slow down, the United States again becomes the cause of everybody’s problems. There’s nothing new here.

It makes me wonder why naive, oblivious, and short-sighted Americans persist in throwing money at countries like Nicaragua.

You reporters in the overseas press need to do a better job of educating naive U.S. liberals who truly don’t have any idea of how the United States and Americans are regarded overseas.

The more aid and welfare we throw at them, the greater their contempt becomes. Americans need to redirect aid to their own suffering people instead!
