Still Wondering, ‘Why The Bags for TT?’

Dear Tico Times:

I appreciate the conversation about why The Tico Times is now being delivered in plastic bags, but I don’t think you’ve answered the original question: Why?

P.S. I’ve just read the three most recent copies of The Tico Times that arrived, including a couple with comments on the plastic bags … and other stories on pollution and environmental degradation in Costa Rica. Every little bit helps!

Mark Smith

Washington, D.C.

Editor’s Note: The Tico Times copies delivered in North America used to be printed in the U.S. They are now printed in Costa Rica, sent to Miami via courier then mailed. The plastic bags help them survive that journey. We will soon be using biodegradable bags.
