Children’s Art on Display In San José

FROM now until the end of January, the Calderón Guardia Museum in the northeastern San José neighborhood of Barrio Escalante will offer proof of the promising future of the arts as it displays 14 original engravings by young artists and the works of 27 different children in its exhibits “Collection of Etchings” and “Children of the World.”

“Collection of Etchings” will allow guests a glimpse into the wide variety of forms associated with the medium, including calligraphy, chromatography and wood and metal engravings, according to a statement from the Culture Ministry.

The works being presented in the exhibit were donated by the World Awareness Children’s Museum in Glen Falls, New York, with the goal of fostering interest in artistic expression among children.

Free and open to the public, the exhibit may be viewed at the museum Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 222-6392 or 255-1218.
