Weekend Section Enters Third Incarnation

The Tico Times’ Weekend section has entered its 11th year and, with this week’s unveiling of the paper’s new design, its third incarnation.

Since its inauguration Oct. 27, 1995 (bottom photo), Weekend has offered Tico Times readers an evolving selection of feature stories, travel pieces, reviews, columns and more: Exploring Costa Rica’s popular travel features; all about the arts scene in Spotlight on the Arts; informative restaurant reviews in Out on the town; news from communities around the country in Community Connection; and, of course, a varied selection of talented columnists.

This week we introduce two new columns: Taste of the Tropics, a cooking column featuring new Costa Rican cuisine, by chef Marco González; and Young Writers, a showcase for aspiring scribblers among the country’s youth.

We hope readers enjoy the new format and material, and welcome all feedback; e-mail comments to Weekend Editor Meg Yamamoto at myamamoto@ticotimes.net.
