Deva Premal and Miten Return to San José

A meditative experience is coming to San José to relax your senses and your soul, tonight only at 8 p.m., at the National Auditorium.

Deva Premal and Miten are returning to the capital to harmonize their spiritual song and chant with Nepalese flutist Manose.

Singer-songwriter Miten, of England, opened for groups such as Fleetwood Mac, Lou Reed and Ry Cooder in the 1970s (TT, April 21, 2006). He’s since turned away from rock and roll and toward meditation music. Since meeting at an ashram in India,Miten and Premal have released more than a dozen albums and have played in various concerts around the world.

Tonight’s concert marks the beginning of celebrations of the first decade of the Meridian program, transmitted on Radio U, 101.9 FM, by the University of Costa Rica (UCR) in the eastern suburb of San Pedro.

Tickets cost ¢17,000 ($33) and are available at Bansbach and Häagen-Dazs stores, Servimás outlets, online at www.mundoticket.com or by calling 207-2025.
