Magic and Illusion Fill Variedades Theater

Ilusión Magic Fest 2007 was set to kick off last night at Variedades Theater in San José.

Featuring magicians Fernando Keops from Las Vegas, Nevada, Enric Magoo of Monte Carlo, Monaco, and Tina Lenert from Hollywood, California, the magic festival runs through Sunday, with remaining performances set for tonight at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 4 and 8 p.m.

The show, which made stops in Honduras and Panama before arriving here, is being produced by Costa Rican illusionist Yuri Baidal, who says he hopes it will mark the beginning of an annual magic festival, according to a statement.

Tickets cost ¢5,000-25,000 (about $10-50) and can be bought online at www.mundoticket.com or by calling 207-2025. Variedades Theater is in downtown San José, on Calle 5 between Avenidas Central and 1.
