American International School Celebrates New Mural

AMERICAN International School,in Cariari, north west of San José, lastmonth celebrated the completion of anew mural, when students from artistWilson McCray’s Advanced-PlacementStudio Art class completed apiece of contemporary public art.After a school-wide contest to determinethe design for a mural to coverthe walls surrounding the new elementary-school playground, the art studentstook pieces from several of themore than 20 design entries to createthe end product, which includes a poplikeportrayal of the solar system and ableeding volcano.“This was truly a collaboration bymany students,” McCray said. “I hopethe elementary students and the wholeschool community will enjoy thismural for years to come.”
