Pérez Zeledón artist Raquel Bolaños shows 12 works that utilize umbrellas to tell the story of women from small towns who helped pave the way for the local coffee industry. The artist says umbrellas symbolize women’s ability to give refuge in stormy times and provide protection.
The free exhibit, entitled ‘Mujeres Burbuja,’ shows through Aug. 26 at San José’s National Culture Center (CENAC). For more information, call 2221-2022.
