Negotiations at last week’s Expotur, the annual tourism trade show held in San José, generated $130 million worth of contracts – 28% more than last year’s event.
Patricia Duar, president of the Costa Rican Association of Tourism Professionals (ACOPROT), the organization that hosts the event, told the daily La República she is pleased with the results. In an ACOPROT survey of Expotur participants, 86% of respondents said they negotiated new contracts during the fair.
The fair drew 245 businesses from Costa Rica, 35 from the rest of Central America and 140 from the United States, Europe and South America, the daily reported.
