Event To Bring Together Hotels and ‘Green’ Providers

An event to take place this October will seek to bring together small- and medium hotel owners with providers of environmentally friendly products.

Known as the Second Q’artos Hotel Owners Business Encounter, the event will take place Oct. 17 and 18 at the Real Intercontinental Hotel in the western suburbs of Escazú.

At least eight to 12 of the participating providers will be focused on “green” products that could help hotel owners meet the standards of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute’s (ICT) Certification for Sustainable Tourism.

“It’s one of the strongest interests of the sector right now,” said event organizer Felipe Mejía.

This is the encounter’s second year, and Mejía said it had to be moved to the Intercontinental this year because of growth.

Some of the 45 slots are still available for vendors. Call Mejía 220-2990 or e-mail fmejia@ arketipo.com.mx.
