Chinese Trade Expo Ends With $2 Million in Contracts

More than 1,000 buyers from Costa Rica and other parts of Latin America signed more than $2 million in contracts with the 30 Chinese companies present at the first China Trade Expo in Costa Rica last week.

Buyers at the event, which began Aug. 22 and ended Saturday, pledged another $10 million in purchases through the signing of intention agreements.

Organizers reported that 25,000 people visited the exposition at the Herradura Hotel in San Antonio de Belén, northwest of San José.

Among the products bought and sold were light industry, home appliances, textile goods and hardware.
