Emergency Landing At San José Airport

The 144 passengers on a flight to the U.S. city of Newark, New Jersey, had a scare Thursday morning when a burning smell emerged from the plane’s cockpit.
Continental Airlines flight 1797 made an emergency landing at San José’s Juan Santamaría International Airport at 10:22 a.m., an hour after its take-off, according to Diego Gutiérrez, of the Civil Aviation Authority. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, landed safely, he said.
