Volunteers to Provide Medical, Dental, Animal Care in Region

U.S.-based charity Volunteers for Intercultural and Definitive Adventures (VIDA) will be running two separate trips to Costa Rica and Nicaragua to provide care to needy communities.

From May 17 to May 29, VIDA will be bringing 25 pre-professional health care students to Cartago, east of San José, and to Ometepe,Masaya and Granada in Nicaragua.

The students will assist fully trained staff in carrying out vaccination programs, pap smears, general medicine and family planning services as well as dental procedures.

All medicines will be provided free to patients, thanks to donations, and the charity will also distribute educational materials and information on preventing illness.

In addition, from May 14 to June 3, 21 pre-veterinary students will be traveling to the provinces of Cartago and Limón, on the Caribbean, in Costa Rica, and to Ometepe and Granada.
