Microsoft Donates to Costa Rican Schools

BY way of the worldwide Alliance for Education, a program of the multinational high-tech company Microsoft, 62 rural high schools and 20 regional centers have received complete sets of coursework and programs for technical training. The high schools received a basic course on technical support for both students and teachers, which includes a textbook and CD, a course for teachers and students on Microsoft 2003 and Windows XP, and a virtual library that includes 16 courses on technology, according to a statement released last week by public relations firm Edilex.The Costa Rican Public Education Ministry also received the right to reproduce these materials as many times as needed, as long as it is for educational purposes.
