Barrio Chino hosting ‘Food Fest’ celebration in San José

Barrio Chino in San José is celebrating Christmas early.

On Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, the San José neighborhood is hosting “Food Fest,” a gastronomic event complete with live music and other entertainment.

The busy pedestrian boulevard, also known as Paseo de Los Estudiantes, will be renovated with additional tables, chairs and artificial grass, and it will welcome 15 food trucks, six beer vendors and more.

Now in its third iteration, previous Food Fests have drawn 10,000 people each day, according to Robert Elkhoury, who is organizing the event alongside the Municipality of San José.

The agenda is as follows:

Saturday November 30
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Various DJs
3 to 4 p.m.: Johnny Man from Mekateliu
4:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Jaguar
6 to 8 p.m.: Grupo Espías (Los Cadillacs Tribute)

Sunday, December 1st
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Various DJs
4:30 p.m.: Pedro Capmani
4 to 5 p.m.: Wicks
6:30 to 8 p.m.: Los Farreles

Admission to all activities is free.
