Country Day Girls victorious in El Salvador

The Country Day School girls’ varsity basketball team won its third consecutive Association of American Schools of Central America (AASCA) basketball tournament Nov. 2-6 in San Salvador, El Salvador. They defeated Costa Rica’s Marian Baker School in the El Salvador National Stadium in a close 24-23 game to secure the championship. Country Day girls are current reigning champs in all three AASCA sports, after winning championships in basketball, soccer and volleyball this past year.

The Country Day boys’ basketball team placed third in the AASCA basketball tournament.

Country Day is an international school offering pre-kinder to 12th grade in the western San José suburb of Escazú. The AASCA consists of 25 schools from six Central American countries and supports academic, artistic, athletic and cultural interaction between international schools.
