Job fair offers 4,000 posts this weekend

Starting Friday and lasting through the weekend, a group of 33 local and multinational companies will be at the Antigua Aduana facilities in downtown San José for the “El Puesto es mío” (“The job is mine”) job fair.

Employeers from the retail, banking and manufacturing sectors are looking to fill some 4,000 posts at all levels, from entry-level jobs to technical specialists.

Abbott, Amazon, BAC Credomatic, Banco BCT, Banco Davivienda, National Bank, seeking My Job, Financial Center Amway Center Therapeutic Mioderma SA Citi, Convergys, CSS Corp., The Empleo.com, Experian, Grupo Bimbo, Grupo Nación, Siman Group, Costa Rica Hewlett Packard, IBM, Insurance Service, Vivid, Language Line Solutions, ManPower, Organo Gold, Pacific Interpreters, PepsiCo Foods International Polytechnic, SBMCR, SRL, Scotiabank, Startek, Symes, Fidélitas University, WNS and Ernst & Young are some of the companies attending. The companies are requesting résumés be presented in both digital and print format.

Entrance costs ₡1,500 ($3), and organizers scheduled a series of free lectures on Saturday and Sunday aimed at helping job-seekers improve their skills. Topics include: the importance of communication tactics during a job interview, personal marketing, corporate image, and résumé preparation, among others.
