California Pizza Kitchen to Open its First Restaurant in Costa Rica

The US restaurant California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) announced that on November 17 it will open its doors in Costa Rica. Multiplaza Escazú will be the restaurant’s new home in the country. This opening involved an investment of approximately $1.5 million.

The restaurant is in the terrace area of the fifth stage of the Multiplaza shopping center. It has a two floors and space for both families and groups of friends.

For its opening, they will hire at least 50 people who have knowledge in the food and beverage industry, and are looking for opportunities for learning, growth and improvement.

According to the general manager, Costa Rica is the first to welcome the franchise in Central America and the third in Latin America, after Chile and Mexico. Since the opening of its first site 37 years ago, the brand now operates 180 restaurants in 10 countries in different regions worldwide.

“We want to welcome families looking to spend a pleasant moment together. We will also be a meeting point for social groups that want to watch a game together, or just have a drink after work. Our proposal offers multiple options.

We even have meals for athletes looking for a good pasta before their competitions”, commented Byron Mora, general manager of Conceptos Gastronómicos de Costa Rica.

The restaurant is internationally recognized for its original artisanal pizza recipes; among them, the “Original BBQ Chicken Pizza”, one of its best sellers worldwide, as well as the “Cauliflower Pizza Crust.”

“Apart from its famous pizzas, the gastronomic offer includes a specialization in pastas, salads, bowls, hamburgers, meats and drinks based on fresh ingredients. There are also options for vegetarians, a special menu for children and Keto products will be offered,” said Carla Hernández, operations manager of Conceptos Gastronómicos.

The restaurant will also sell national and international beers, and a selection of the brand’s emblematic cocktails.

California Pizza Kitchen is pet-friendly, however costumers must follow Multiplaza’s rules which allow dogs smaller than 35 centimeters, with their cleaning kit and leash.

This new gastronomic option arrives in the country thanks to the investment of Conceptos Gastronómicos, which has set as its objective the development and expansion of the food and beverage area.
