Saprissa advances to CONCACAF League finals with epic comeback

Costa Rican soccer club Saprissa staged an epic comeback Thursday night to reach the CONCACAF League finals.

Three goals in the final 25 minutes against Olimpia (Honduras) secured Saprissa’s 4-1 victory — and 4-3 win on aggregate — to advance.

Marvin Angulo scored in the 69th and 88th minute for the Costa Rican club, tying the global score at 3-3. That result would’ve still benefited Olimpia, which had the advantage due to its away goal.

But in the fourth minute of added time and just seconds from the final whistle, David Ramirez secured the comeback-completing goal.

Below are longer looks at Saprissa’s final two goals:

Saprissa will face Motagua, also from Honduras, in the CONCACAF League finals. Both legs of the home-and-away final will be held this month.
