Costa Rica’s 22-year-old soccer star Raquel Rodríguez (left) made her professional debut Sunday in Sky Blue FC’s 2-1 win over the Seattle Reign.
The victory snapped Seattle’s historic 22-game home winning streak.
Though last year’s NCAA player of the year didn’t score in her first National Women’s Soccer League match, Rodríguez started at midfield and made her mark for 74 minutes before being subbed out.
Rodríguez was the second player chosen in the 2016 NWSL college draft in January.
