Costa Rica World Cup 2014 Retrospective!

During a solid month on the streets of San José, the staff of The Tico Times spoke with hundreds of fans and took thousands of photographs. We cheered on the sidelines and migrated with the crowds. To celebrate the most successful World Cup in Costa Rican history, we put together this homage to fandom.

This tiny nation is home to thousands of expats and immigrants, many of whom rooted for their home teams as well, but nothing could match the colossal joy felt by La Sele supporters here and around the world as the Ticos fought their way to the quarterfinals.

Here is one last hurrah for Costa Rica, global soccer fans and the 2014 World Cup.
