Copa announces new Costa Rica flights

Copa Airlines will connect Guanacaste, in north Costa Rica, with Panama City beginning on June 24, the Panama-based airline announced this week.

Flights will run twice a week, on Sundays and Thursdays. The flights have the same schedule on both days. Copa Airlines will leave Panama at 9:52 a.m. local Panama time, and arrive in Liberia’s Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Guanacaste, at 10:53 a.m. The return flight will leave Liberia at 11:25 a.m. and arrive in Panama at 1:58 p.m.

A newly opened terminal at the airport in Liberia, capital of northwestern Guanacaste province, helped bring the airport a 31.4 percent increase in arrivals compared to the previous year.
