Drug agents arrest Israeli citizen with 8 kilos of cocaine

Agents with the Drug Control Police (PCD) arrested an Israeli citizen found with more than eight kilograms of cocaine, $5,600 in cash and a 9mm pistol in his Mercedes-Benz on Friday night near the Real Cariari commercial center, in Belén of Heredia, according a report issued by the Public Security Ministry.

The Israeli citizen is identified in the report as a 41-year-old man with the last name Abergel. He was apprehended in his car with 8 kg and 360 grams of cocaine, the pistol and the cash, the report said.

Agents seized the car and contraband and took Abergel into custody where, according to the report, he could face international drug trafficking charges.
