Light rain in forecast for election day

The National Meteorological Institute is forecasting an election day with dry conditions Sunday morning and increasing cloud cover in the afternoon, with the possibility of some showers.

Sunday Forecast by Region:

Central Valley: Morning: a few scattered clouds, moderate to weak winds, cool and dry. Afternoon: Cloudy skies partial to scattered showers in the mountains.

Northern Pacific: Morning: Clear skies, warm and windy. Afternoon: Partly cloudy with scattered showers in the mountainous areas and potential downpours (short in duration) in the Nicoya Peninsula.

Central Pacific: Morning: Scattered clouds, warm and dry. Afternoon: Partial to complete cloud cover with isolated rainfall in mountainous areas. Isolated showers possible.

South Pacific: Morning: Clear skies, warm and dry conditions. Afternoon: Partly cloudy with chance of isolated rain showers.

Northern Region: Morning: A few scattered clouds, windy and cool. Afternoon: Cloudy skies with scattered showers in the mountains.

North Caribbean: Morning: Partly cloudy skies, breezy and cool. Afternoon: Partly cloudy with scattered showers.

Southern Caribbean: Morning and afternoon: Partly cloudy.
