PRONicaragua to Open New Office in Arkansas

Investment promotion agency PRONicaragua, in conjunction with the Nicaraguan Chamber of Industries (CADIN), signed a cooperation agreement this week to promote Nicaraguan investment and business opportunities in the U.S. state of Arkansas.

The agreement calls for the opening of a Nicaraguan investment-promotion office in the WorldTradeCenter building in Little Rock, Arkansas, which is home to some 4,500 corporate headquarters and offices, including Wal-Mart.

The office, which is scheduled to open later this month, will seek to promote Nicaragua as an attractive near-shore investment opportunity in key sectors, such as agriculture, light manufacturing, food processing, energy generation and technology.

PRONicaragua opened a similar office – the first of its kind – in Washington, D.C., last April.
