Honduras Armored-Car Heist Nets Almost $500,000

TEGUCIGALPA – Eight heavily armed men made off with $473,684 when they robbed an armored car in the northern Honduran city of San Pedro Sula, police sources said.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt in the Sept. 25 evening heist, which was the third in less than one year targeting an armored car operated by security giant Wackenhut, for a total of $1.7 million stolen from the company’s watch.
