Tico Youths Head to Rugby World Cup

Two Tico teens are headed to France to represent Costa Rica in the sixth Rugby World Cup now under way in the European country.

Gabriel Cortés and Oscar Cordero, both 16, were selected to participate in a youth conference during the world cup of the full-contact sport popular in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

More than 80 students from 34 countries will participate as youth ambassadors, attending games, ceremonies and playing the sport.

The students’ trip is being organized by Youth Planet Rugby, an organization based in France, and the French Embassy in Costa Rica, the Alliance Française, the French-CostaRicanSchool, the Costa Rican Sports and Recreation Institute and the Rugby Association.
