Gov’t Renews Diplomatic Relations with Laos
MANAGUA – Nicaragua and the Asian nation of Laos renewed diplomatic relations April 27, after a 17-year break, with Laos promising to back Nicaragua’s bid for a seat on the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.
President Daniel Ortega met with Thongloune Sisoulith, the vice-minister of Laos’ Foreign Ministry to formalize ties.
Phouangkeo Langsy, Laos’ Ambassador to Cuba, presented his credentials to Ortega.
