National Surf Circuit’s Copa Mango Hits Hermosa

The fifth National Surf Circuit event of the season, Copa Mango, takes place this weekend in front of the Hotel Backyard in Playa Hermosa, on the central Pacific coast.

Vying closely for the lead in the Open category will be the Central Pacific’s own Diego Naranjo of Jacó (1,620 points to date); Luis Castro of the Caribbean province of Limón (1,498 points); and reigning champion Isaac Vega from the northern Pacific beach area of Tamarindo (1,488 points).

The competition will start tomorrow at 7 a.m., with the final rounds set for Sunday around noon. Registration for the event takes place today at Mango Surf & Skate in Jacó, from 5 to 7 p.m.
